Remodeling for a client. We were given an 18ct yellow gold Amethyst ring. Our client wanted the amethyst in 18ct white gold. We suggested to use the spare gold to make two square bands for her to either wear on their own or stack them with the new white gold ring.

What does "ct " mean?

In Australia, golds purity is measured in parts per thousand and usually alloyed with silver, copper and or palladium depending on the ct and what shade and colour you are after—9ct gold is 375, 14ct is 585, 18ct is 750, and pure 24ct gold is 999 or 1000.
